Abby Mayhue, M.Ed., NCC (She/They)
Staff Therapist
When life feels more like a gasp for air rather than a deep breath, therapy can support those airways to breathe a bit easier. Sometimes, searching for the right therapist can feel like another daunting task, and Abby's goal is to release some of that pressure. With a curious and compassionate lens, Abby works with queer adults navigating life transitions, identity, anxiety, sexuality, and relationships.
Abby is passionate about supporting folks in building community, recognizing their emotional experiences, and processing individual and collective trauma. She utilizes a psychodynamic and narrative approach to support clients in fostering an understanding of their social and cultural world, including the systems that impact it. The historic and profound resilience of the queer community continues to inspire them within and beyond therapeutic spaces. As a queer and nonbinary clinician, Abby deeply believes in the power of being truly seen as your whole self and reveling in the freedom to show up imperfectly. They encourage you to bring all of yourself into the space and show up exactly how you need to in the moment.
Her approach is reflective and collaborative, using encouragement, humor, and a non-judgmental space to accompany you in your healing journey. Through cultivating and emphasizing your current strengths, you will identify unhelpful patterns and build personal confidence and adaptability as goals shift. Together, you will learn to welcome a little extra joy into your everyday experience and create a brave space for pleasure to live in abundance.
