Caressa Chester, MSW (She/They)

Staff Therapist

The relationship between client and therapist is unique–you already have everything you need for change inside of you. While working with Caressa, you’ll aim to co-create a relationship and space grounded in trust, vulnerability, and honesty, and she is ready to support your navigation forward.

Caressa’s approach to therapy is person-centered and strengths-based, with a fundamental belief in the mind-body-spirit connection. She believes trauma is stored in the body, and she aims to integrate cognitive and somatic modalities. Understanding how personal, cultural and systemic context interact with the mind and body ultimately leads to more effective therapeutic practices and holistic healing. She works with a diverse number of clients, and as a queer Black woman, her work is focused on BIPOC and LGBTQ adults. Caressa is passionate about working with couples and different relational structures, as well as kinky communities.

Caressa believes that deeper self knowledge, awareness and consciousness can empower you to heal and cope with navigating the complexities of life. If you are looking to upend patterns that are no longer working for you, she is here to collaborate on your journey toward change.

Caressa practices therapy in Illinois and offers coaching anywhere.
