Kayla Harris, LMFT (She/Her)
Staff Therapist
I am a white, queer, neurodiverse cis woman with a Master’s in Couple and Family Therapy and a Certificate in Sex Therapy from Adler University. I also identify as a sexual assault survivor, an anti-war military veteran, and the oldest of four siblings. I disclose this information because I believe it is important to acknowledge my humanness and the lived experiences that influence my work.
I specialize in supporting individuals and relationships impacted by military service, trauma, neurodivergence, evolving identities, intimacy issues, and systemic oppression. In my clinical work, I integrate Narrative and Solution-Focused therapies with relational and systemic thinking. My clinical lens is shaped by intersectional feminism, anti-oppressive frameworks, and the concept of pluriversality (the belief that multiple truths and experiences can coexist). My belief is that therapy isn’t always about doing more; sometimes it’s about redirecting the energy you’re already expending toward outcomes that better reflect who you want to be.
Working with me involves collaboration, creativity, and conversation. You can expect metaphors, gentle challenges, reflection prompts to maintain the momentum between sessions, and a tone of genuine curiosity. Clients and I are often exploring themes like appropriate responsibility and relational equity, intending to help you discern what’s truly yours to carry, what can be set down, and what is reasonable to ask others to pick up.
In addition to my clinical work, I am also a PhD candidate in the Couple and Family Therapy program at Adler University.
