Kayla Harris, LMFT (She/Her)
Staff Therapist

Kayla is a queer, cis, white woman with a Master’s in Couple and Family therapy and a Certificate in Sex Therapy from Adler University. Kayla, a military veteran and the oldest of four siblings, brings her lived experiences and clinical training into the therapy room with care and curiosity. She specializes in working with individuals/relationships impacted by military service, trauma, neurodivergence, evolving identities, intimacy issues, and systemic oppression.
In her clinical work, Kayla integrates Narrative and Solution-Focused therapies with relational and systemic thinking. Her clinical lens is shaped by intersectional feminism, anti-oppressive frameworks, and the concept of pluriversality (the belief that multiple truths and experiences can coexist). She believes therapy isn’t always about doing more; sometimes it’s about redirecting the energy you’re already expending toward outcomes that better reflect who you want to be.
In session, Kayla values collaboration, creativity, and conversation. You can expect metaphors, gentle challenges, reflection prompts to maintain the momentum between sessions, and a tone of genuine curiosity. She often explores themes like appropriate responsibility and relational equity, intending to help you discern what’s truly yours to carry, what can be set down, and what is reasonable to ask others to pick up.
In addition to her clinical practice, Kayla is a PhD candidate in the Couple and Family Therapy program at Adler University.
Kayla practices therapy in Illinois and offers coaching anywhere
