Mauricio Rodríguez, LCPC (He/Him/Él)
Staff Therapist

Mauricio is a bilingual psychotherapist who is trained in integrative and trauma-informed care. Mauricio’s career has revolved around social and individual development through working with people internationally, supporting clients with their acculturation and existential needs, and endorsing relational processes and collaboration in the construction of richer communities.
Mauricio completed his bachelor's degree in psychology in 2008 in Mexico City, followed by a master’s degree in Gestalt psychotherapy in 2011. He then supported clients in his own private practice, conducted coaching and human development seminars in Mexico City, and volunteered in international missions through humanitarian aid following natural disasters until 2018. From there, a curiosity to explore new horizons led him to Chicago where he is currently licensed as an LCPC.
For the last six years, he has worked in community healthcare settings, including in 2020 where he participated at the frontline of COVID-19 crisis intervention and the rollout of contact tracing. Through client advocacy and promotion of change in healthcare policies, he is dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ community through harm reduction and affirming interventions.
As a therapist, using a relational and person-centered framework, Mauricio aims to support his clients in making meaningful, updated and grounded decisions. With a warm approach, he invites clients to together become curious observers of their experiences while honoring their individuality and the contexts that shape it.
