Serena Martinez, MSW (They/Them)

Staff Therapist

Whether you have more questions than answers about yourself, you have spent years editing and shrinking your desires, or you carry the quiet exhaustion of living in a world that offers too little care, I am here to hold space for your needs.

I predominantly work with members of the LGBTQIA+ community with a focus on affirmative care for trans/gender expansive, kinky, and non-monogamous folks. But I also recognize that there is so much within and beyond those labels. I would love to sit between those lines with you. While many clients come to therapy to explore their identity, just as many prefer to focus on topics such as anxiety, depression, sexual trauma, life transitions, and grief without needing to contextualize their queerness.

I am here to meet clients where they are at and move from there. I bring my own conversational and collaborative self to walk alongside clients with curiosity instead of judgment. I offer compassionate thoughts as suggestions, not proclamations. The shared therapeutic space between a client and me will develop and grow as we uncover their goals together.

I found my voice as an advocate, organizer, educator, artist, and therapist by following the joyous liberatory resilience of my community in times of difficulty. I would be honored to help you find your voice in whatever manner that means to you.
